Tip management

Whose tip, how much — no arguments

Moment of the day: Service

In Digigarson tips are kept apart from payments: they do not settle the bill and are not counted as revenue. Each tip is recorded with whether it was cash or card and which staff member or shared pool it belongs to; the distribution is recorded too.

Tips while taking payment

The cashier enters the tip separately while taking payment, as a percentage or an amount. Percentage tips are capped at 25% to prevent typing mistakes. A tip can also be added to a check that is already closed.

Staff member or shared pool

A tip is assigned to a specific staff member or to a shared pool; cash and card tips are tracked separately.

Distribution

Accumulated tips are distributed to staff at the end of the day, week or month: individually, from the pool, by points or manually. An approved distribution cannot be changed; corrections are made with a reversal entry.

Separate at the till and in reports

Tips appear on their own line in the Z report and never mix with revenue. The tip report in the management panel shows totals by period and by staff member.

Tip suggestion on the receipt

The customer receipt can show a tip suggestion in 3 languages.
